Happy Friday everyone! Boy am I glad it’s the weekend again. I spent this week playing catch up after my LA trip. I have two design projects keeping me busy and am I always researching ways to make Planning Pretty awesome!
My friend Celestine of Java Aficionado, nominated me for a Liebster Award! For those of you unfamiliar with the Liebster, bloggers answer a few fun biographical questions and then pass on to their blogger friends. It’s a great way to get to know each other a little better! Basically you’ll have the chance to get to know me a little better starting now…
- I have an addiction to Hello Kitty! I’ve toned it down in later years, but I can’t help but get excited when I see her latest products.
- I originally moved to SF to attend a pastry program (I have quite the knack for macarons and other French pastries), but decided to pursue writing and my super passion interior design instead.
- Never spent a semester abroad while at Harvard and have added living in another country to my 30 before 30 list.
- I love Romance languages and am half way through learning them all! Parli italiano? Hablas español? Parles-tu français?
- My sweet little yorkie Sprinkles keeps me company during the day. I let her sleep on my desk while I work!
- My two half-brothers are named Charles, and my dad’s name is Charles. I grew up in a confusing house lol!
- I drive a very predictable car, baby blue Volkswagen Beetle convertible.
- My favorite show of all time is I Love Lucy! I watch reruns everyday.
- I have to make my bed everyday or I won’t sleep in it.
- Wanted to be a model when I was younger, but my growth spurt stopped at 5’3″.
- Never dyed my hair before, but I’m strongly considering it now!
- What did you go to school for? I studied social and developmental psychology, but paid the most attention in my film and Italian classes.
- Is your job relevant to your major? Sure it is lol! I have to understand people’s personalities in order to recommend decor ideas. Happy house = happy life right?
- Favorite Quote? It’s Dr. Seuss! “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind”
- Pick your top 3: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linked In, Bloglovin, Vine: Twitter, Pinterest & Bloglovin!

- Coffee or Tea? Tea! I drink it everyday and love high teas! Sorry Celestine :)
- Flowers or Feathers? Flowers all the way.
- When and why did you start blogging? November 2012. Inspired by my friends who always asked for decor & baking advice. I wanted to provide easy decorating tips for the girls who need a little help or are short on time.
- What things or relationships have you gained from blogging? I’ve made so many local and long-distance friends through blogging! Also a whole new skillset in website and social media management, not to mention designing layouts.
- #1 tip for new bloggers? Stick to it! I was very skeptical my first few months, but now I’m starting to see the hard work pay off :)
