Happy Friday everyone! And it’s B-Day for all you Beyonce fans :)
First a blog update. A couple weeks ago I signed with Mode Media! That means you’ll notice ads on the site and occasional sponsored blog posts. Don’t worry the blog isn’t turning into one giant advertisement, just helping to the pay the bills. I did get to shoot another video with Mode and two other awesome bloggers. A little update since our move back to Los Angeles. The new apartment is coming along as far as unpacking goes. I’ve spent most of August getting adjusted to our new life here in Long Beach. There’s still this room of boxes with things we probably should have left behind in Oakland. Now I get sort through them… The rest of the house looks put together, though I am itching to update our decor. New dining table, sofa, media center (or none at all), desk, and a guest bed. And then paint! I’m gravitating to the dark moody floral trend that’s popping up everywhere. It would be a shift from my light and bright pastel decor, but still keeps the romantic style. We’ll see.
I don’t know about you, but this weekend I am checking out the sales! On the practical side we need to go mattress shopping and labor weekend is a great time. Really every presidential/patriotic holiday weekend is great for mattress sales. I also have my eye on the Kate Spade 25% sale, thought I can’t decided what to buy. Too many purses in too many pretty colors. Have a peek at my favorites below!

I’m also watching decor sales. Planning to visit West Elm at some point this weekend, possibly HD Buttercup, World Market and the awesome Restoration Hardware outlet down the street. The RH outlet in Long Beach is quite remarkable. I stumbled in there on a Friday night and almost bought all new living room furniture. The savings are amazing, almost 70% on some pieces. I have an eye for sofas in pink, blue or yellows. Not sure what we’ll end up with, but I am tired of our current beige sofa. It looks great, but I’ve never been a fan of beige. We bought it primarily for it’s function as a sofa bed and it was the most stylish we could find. I would love to get a sofa with a more personality, comfort and style.
