Happy Friday!
Whoa this week flew by. After having a wonderful time in Los Angeles for my birthday, I jumped right into planning for Sunday’s workshop, my studio design and upcoming photo shoots. Keeping balance has never been more important! In between work, I unwind with dubbed episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal on Hulu and lots of Netflix.
Last week I received some exciting news that I definitely didn’t expect I submitted a proposal for a summer party to Better Homes & Gardens and they approved! I’m creating a garden soiree party kit that will be shared alongside a other awesome bloggers. It’s coming out later this summer and I can’t wait to share on the blog. I created a Pinterest inspiration board for my application and wanted to share my brainstorming process with you guys!
I love this colorful balloon arch DIY from House That Lars Built. She shared a full tutorial, chicken wire is the trick! I plan to create something along these lines, but a bit simplified so everyone feels like they can recreate the look.
The party will include an iced tea bar and I love the styling of this photo from Mowielicious. I think having fruit mix-ins and flower ice cubes will create a fun interactive experience!
I’m finally going to make petit fours inspired by this awesome birthday tea party. I made a batch several years ago for a family event and have been dying to make ever since. They are so dainty, elegant, and I love the flower detail on top. I may use sugar coated petals instead, they taste amazing.
I’m incorporating a few DIYs for the shoot including an adorable flower lapel. I made one for my husband on Valentine’s day. Ladies and gents can attach to their lapel or collar for the party. It only involves a tiny bit of sewing I promise. I’m making a digital template so anyone will be able to create! Plus planning to have croquet score cards templates as part of the party kit too!
I can’t wait for the feature to come out this summer. I hope one of the parties inspires you to have a summer party of your own :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
