Like many of you, my long weekend began Thursday evening. I’m still recouping from all the walking and exploring today, so I will share the some the highlights!
We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a romantic home-cooked lobster dinner prepared by me (I never cook, only bake)! It was absolutely delicious and my husband was completely surprised by the decor and meal :)
We continued in the spirit of the romantic holiday and watched a screening of Casablanca at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland. They screen a classic film once per moth for just $5/person. It’s the most beautiful Art Deco theatre you’ve ever seen!
Saturday morning we took a long stroll on Lake Merritt to our neighborhood farmer’s market. I’m so happy to see anemones are back in season!
Saturday night we relaxed with a movie night at home. We prepared this delicious popcorn recipe from Brit + Co and yummy pretzels from Say Yes to Hoboken!
Finally yesterday, we drove down to Monterey for a nice little day trip. I visited many times as a little girl because my dad lived in Pacific Grove. We walked through Cannery Row and drove to Carmel for another romantic evening.
How have you spent your long weekend? I have a very busy week ahead of me so I must catch up today and get things in order before my birthday Friday!
Happy President’s Day everyone!
