I know it’s been a couple weeks since my last #BeHappylinkup, it’s been busy over here! I’m researching, meeting new people, and traveling to Los Angeles pretty often lately. When life gets busy sometimes it’s hard to take care of your own needs. We often put ourselves on the back burner and take care of everything and everyone else around us.
I’ve always been bad at putting myself first, mainly because I thought it meant I was a bad selfish person. My limits have been pushed and even ran over at times. I’m a better at this now, but I still need to figure out avoid pleasing everyone as a top priority.
Sometimes putting yourself first simply means focusing on what makes you happy. Sort of a natural cause and effect. No matter how many people are tugging from left to right, don’t move a muscle unless you really want to.
This doesn’t mean you completely cut yourself off from people. Many times what made me happy was doing what others needed. I think it depends on your personality.
In what ways do you keep yourself first? Or at least try to remember :)
