Whoa buddy that was one heck of week! On top of work there were all little details leading up to Alt SF. Please excuse the Instagram photos, didn’t bring my dslr like a dummy.
Wednesday came too fast and a busy work schedule led me to skip the Alt SF sponsor dinner (I know, I know). Had it been Joss & Main, I probably would have hauled myself a little faster. Instead I attended Crane & Canopy’s one year anniversary dinner! My relationship with the marketing director/fellow Harvard alum has blossomed into a wonderful friend & mentor. I’m so proud of what they accomplished in just a year!
The next morning I woke up bright and early to get over to the Fairmont Hotel. For the entire morning, I sat at the Federated Media roundtable with my coworker Helen Jane who did an awesome job explaining ad networks. I enjoyed hearing everyone’s questions and interest in submitting to the DailyBuzz. If you’re unfamiliar with DailyBuzz it is a subset of FM, perfect for small & medium blogs to have posts featured plus consideration for campaigns.
I had a great time during the actually conference. Getting to hear from the CEOs of Minted and Flipboard was so motivating. To see two entrepreneurs who built amazing businesses has a bit of a star-struck feeling. I’ve been amazed at how fast or slow a business can grow. Having a good team or partner were my big take aways. The idea of having a partner sounds appealing especially as I juggle working and blogging.
And then there was the Pinterest party at their new headquarters. “Alice in Pinterland” did not disappoint! Again not too many photos because, well, I was having fun . . . a lot of fun. I reconnected with a lot of friends I haven’t seen in a while plus enjoyed all the cute Alice in Wonderland decor & food.
Next day I was completely pooped at work. Manage to breath a little Friday & Saturday, then connected with even more bloggers at Blog Brunch SF hosted by my friend Nichole. There just seems to be an infinite number of bloggers in the bay area!
