One of my favorite things to do growing up was ice skating. I wasn’t super skilled, but the excitement of holding onto the side rail and colliding into friends every now and then made the experience great!
Since we first started dating six years ago, my husband and I have made it a tradition to go ice skating every winter. We’ve skated in Central Park, the Hotel Del Coronado and now in San Francisco. He’s a much better skater than I and so it’s fun to be pulled around the rink!
Ice skating makes a wonderful winter date. Most rinks will only be open for a few more weeks so hurry! Planning is so simple. Just arrive early, especially on the weekends. Some rinks require reservations with assigned 1-2 hour skate times. Be sure to dress warmly and wear cute socks, after all it is ice!
No worries if you’re single, ice skating is a lovely activity with friends or little ones. Afterwards it’s always perfect to sip a little hot cocoa or enjoy warm comfort food!
