It’s taken until my return to Los Angeles to share photos from my trip last month! Yes, for shame, but better late than never. Part one of my Southern California trip was San Diego, where I did absolutely nothing for three days. Wasn’t long enough but still enjoyed. Part two was to Los Angeles to visit family, friends and attend to very special events. Joy Cho and Justina Blakeney’s book signings! I loved meeting/reconnecting with both of these creative/blogger role models. Both released books in April. Justina has wonderful style and her brand is really taking off. Joy continues to be a pioneer in this world and really demonstrates what it takes to “have it all”. I admire them both so much!
The Oh Joy book signing was heavily attended by fans and top bloggers like Kelly Lanza and Emily Henderson. I sort of just hung out with my mom after waiting in line to meet Joy. I loved the decor for the event, including the pretty pink streamer background. She’s so nice and I applaud her for making it through all those fans!
Justina’s book signing included a fun flower workshop! If you aren’t familiar with her Instagram, she creates a beautiful series called #facethefoliage where she styles plants to look like faces. It’s surprising how therapeutic sitting there and playing with twigs, branches, and flowers can be. I did’t have detailed plan or special order for creating, just whatever came to mind. And it was lovely getting to see Justina again!
Everything Joy and Justina have accomplished is so inspiring. I highly recommend both books if you haven’t picked up copies yet. Joy’s book is great for DIY crafting and Justina’s captures the many faces of bohemian home decor. I wanted to get a treehouse after flipping through the lush green and eclectic homes.
And quick reminder to enter my Better Homes & Gardens products for Walmart giveaway before it ends!
