The past couple weeks I’ve worked on a collaboration with Wedding Paper Divas. Using the brand’s beautiful collection of wedding stationery, I styled a bridal shower in my studio. I’m wrapping up editing now and can’t wait to share the final pictures. The design was inspired by my recent trip to Georgia. I visited the beautiful botanical gardens in Athens, saw tons of magnolia trees and enjoyed sweet Georgia peaches prepared many ways. From those experiences and the overall beauty of the South including New Orleans, I came up with the idea for a peach blossom bridal shower.
Above was the mood board I created to plan out this shoot. I had a lot of fun searching for wedding decor again. I shopped from my friend Esselle SF, Anthropologie’s wedding brand BHLDN and baked dessert recipes from my favorite patisserie Laduree. Now I can only show one pic for now, but please enjoy this exclusive mini sneak peek!
I have a post coming up on About.com Home and will share the link as soon as it’s live! Also, my first professional video shoot with Mode Media will debut on Youtube this month. I will most certainly share with all of you as soon as it’s live! I’m a little nervous to watch myself, but please enjoy my tips on throwing a summer garden party. And, in case you missed my other garden party featured on Better Homes and Gardens, please check it out.
In other news, my summer has been filled with hours combing Craigslist, Trulia, Lovely, etc. for new apartments. It is no secret that the bay area is expensive and competitive when it comes to housing. Searching the ads, attending open houses and dealing with rejection feels like a second job. I have felt judged for not holding a traditional job as we apply for apartments. As I grow my business, it’s often hard to convince others that what I do is worthy of respect. I want to thank all of you who read, comment and support Planning Pretty on social media. Thank you for sticking around and I hope that I continue to provide inspiration for building a life at home that you love.
