Today I wanted to share a really simple holiday treat! I made these for my husband’s work holiday party the other day. Not only were they the only homemade dessert in the office, but they were delicious too!
I found this great recipe on The Faux Martha via my Foodie newsletter. I always receive so many great recipe suggestions from Foodie! I tweaked her recipe only slightly by making the filling green instead of pink. The original recipe has crushed peppermints which creates a pink color. For whatever reason the grocery store didn’t have candy canes so I bought Duncan Hines mint flavoring instead. You could also substitute a little peppermint extract for the filling if all the candy canes have vanished in your store too!
Another one of my favorite places to find dessert recipes is Dessert First Girl. Anita is an amazing pastry artist. I had the pleasure of meeting her over lunch earlier this year! Her recipes are amazing and I encourage you try them out! And, I love her new magazine sated.
Share your favorite online sites for recipes! I usually stick to cookbooks (love Miette & Laduree) but I’m getting better at using the web for baking ideas and not just food network!
