Hello everyone! The holiday season is here. I’ve been busy making fresh eucalyptus wreaths at the shop and holiday decorating. Being at the shop around so many products has actually made me want simplicity at home. I like to keep my dining table set even when we aren’t using it. I love the light that hits the table at certain points in the day. I’m always looking for interesting dining pieces to mix with my vintage collection and favorites from the shop. I found a few new pieces from the Better Homes and Gardens Collection at Walmart that compliment our style and entertaining needs. We love to host friends and family for casual occasions and its nice to have lots of functional serveware on hand.
Most days I keep a plain white linen cloth on the table but I like to add a little texture with a table runner. Most of my dishes are white and it’s nice to have a little break in stark white colors. I love using gold flatware to accent and vintage glassware as a pop of color.
I found these black and white stripe plates and loved the jagged lines. A perfect stripe can feel pretentious or overbearing sometimes and these broken lines add the casual touch I like for an everyday table. I also keep fun appetizer cheese plates, platters and serving trays handy for impromptu chips and dip or antipasti..
My husband and I recently setup our bar cart in our living room. We love making artisan cocktails after work and having a nice place to store all of our barware. The marble pedestal and classic white bowls are perfect for holding fresh ingredients on the cart. We always try to have lemons, limes, or clementines on hand for fresh juice, zest or a peeled garnish for cocktail recipes.
We’re happy with the fresh new additions especially as we get ready for more family + friend drop ins this season. We aren’t hosting any big dinners but we’ll be ready for fun game nights, out of town guests and our always last minute New Year’s Eve party.
