Engagement season is coming! Haven’t you ever notice that the holidays seemed to be filled with wedding proposals and engagements? It is a very romantic time of year to propose and with that comes an onset of engagement parties. I created a beautiful tablescape for an engagement dinner party inspired by lovely stationery from Wedding Paper Divas. I think throwing a big party is great, but sometimes you just want to have an intimate gathering with your closest family and friends. You can save all the big showy stuff and intense planning for the actual wedding day! I shared helpful tips for hosting an engagement party over on Domino.com. This post is also being shared in the Bird’s Party entertaining blog link up. Her site has wonderful ideas for parties, check it out!
I loved the “Enchanting” engagement party invitations from Wedding Paper Divas and used them as inspiration for the entire shoot! I found vintage Lenox pink dishes that matched the invitations perfectly. The gold flatware is from Target, just $20/set and the charges from World Market.
I also found lovely floral place cards from Wedding Paper Divas to use at each place setting. The blue moroccan glasses were an awesome find at World Market to for just $6 each.
I found this “Love” wood cutout at Michaels and simply spray painted it gold! I used toothpicks to turn it into a cake topper.
If you have a small cake for the dinner party, have mini desserts as extras.
One of my favorite brands of French wines! You can find Les Dauphins wine at World Market and other specialty shops.
Whether you’re hosting an engagement party this season or helping plan for a friend, I hope this gave some inspiration!
