Spring is the perfect season for entertaining! There are a few holidays to celebrate and always a birthday or shower to host. One of my favorite ways to entertain is a simple brunch. The menu is less complicated than a dinner party. When it comes to styling a brunch table, I add elements that add lots of light, pops of color and a touch of gold. Keeping this trio in mind, it is very easy to create a balanced look that’s also inviting for any guest. The best part is that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to create a beautiful tabletop design. The Better Homes & Gardens collection has many versatile dishes and accents at an affordable price. I styled this brunch table with a few of of my favorite pieces from their collection and you can too! I’m giving away two $100 gift cards to use for decorating your perfect brunch party. Details at the end of the post!
To start any tabletop design, choose a gorgeous table linen. Now it can be simple, solid white for example. I actually used a plain white table cloth and then cut a few yards of lace to go on top. Less than $20 and it looks quite elegant!
For dishes, I always look for styles that I can use during multiple occasions. One of the new designs that I really like are the Color Dipped Dinner Plates and the matching Salad Plates. That’s a set of six salad and dinner plates for just $45! The dishes are mostly gray in color, but then there’s this little bit of white. The design works well with any color palette. I can use them for a casual setting or dress up for a more elegant affair. I paired this setting with a floral print napkin that really pops against the neutral dish-ware.
Coffee and tea are a big deal in my home for any brunch. We love to use a nice big mug for a warm and cozy beverage. I love this classic white Cappuccino Mug set. They are perfect for entertaining! Use for coffee, ice cream, yogurt, fruit or even soup. They are also safe for high oven temperatures so you can bake with these too.
Personally, I think no table is complete without a centerpiece. I collect all sorts of vessels for holding flowers, plants or other decorative accents. For this table, I converted Tealight Holders into vases. I picked up a few peony and tulip bouquets from my local market and simply added them to each jar.
Adding texture to a brunch table can be achieved in many different ways. I like to add a table runner of some sort, whether it’s fabric or in this case, metal. I used a set of Gold Mirrors to place each vase on the table. The mirrors add a little bit of glam style, but it’s still subtle enough to not distract from the other decor elements.
It really only takes a few elements (and good food!) to host a lovely brunch. There’s still a lot of spring left, so invite over your favorite folks for a little quality time together. Enter the giveaway below for your chance to win a $100 gift card and take care of all your entertaining needs!
