Hi everyone! If you’re following along on social media then you know Planning Pretty launched a brick & mortar shop in Long Beach, CA this summer! Being busy in the shop has made me appreciate the time I spend at home even more. There’s nothing like coming home after being on my feet arranging flowers and getting to lounge around. My early morning trips to the LA flower market leave me exhausted right around dinner time. Sometimes I just need a moment to rest, sip a little cocktail or glass of wine while my husband and I chat about our days. He loves to relax by cooking and our living room is just a little too far away from the kitchen. There was an empty space in our dining room and I thought it would be perfect to add a mini lounge! That way one of can sit and still have a conversation with the other in the kitchen. I’m excited to debut our new dining room lounge with the help of pieces from Better Homes & Gardens collection. The update was quick and the result is quite charming!
We started by adding the accent chair. Our grey floors are one of our favorite things about this apartment and I love adding grey accents in our decor. My husband loves wingback chairs and this modern version with a touch of farmhouse chic is perfect. He will enjoy many a glass of bourbon sitting here!
I love the gold pillows in the Better Homes & Gardens collection, like this gold metallic pillow. We also have the heart gold foil pillow in our living room reading chair, so each corner compliments each other. It’s a cozy chair, but still firm enough to sit up and have a proper conversation.
The lounge completely faces away from the distracting TV and we have a nice bluetooth speaker to enjoy music. Plus there’s the huge window that brings in tons of natural light and a nice view of our neighbors trees. I added one of our gold mirrors and an art print framed in the white picture frame.
I moved one of our end tables next to the chair, perfect for flowers and little treats. Our little yorkie loves laying on faux sheepskin rugs or pillows, so I added a rug for her to lounge on too.
We’re really happy with the dining room lounge! It’s the first thing you see when you enter the apartment and I’m sure it will make a great first impression with our guests. I look forward to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the morning to start my day and a glass of wine to end.
