Hello everyone! We are back from our awesome Southern road trip. I’m catching up on work and prepping for my next photoshoot. We really had a wonderful time in Atlanta, Austin and especially New Orleans. Now it’s time to get back to work and planning. Today, I’m sharing my article written for Chairish! If you aren’t familiar with Chairish, it is a wonderful marketplace for vintage decor. You can sell your furniture and find great pieces sold from all over the U.S. My post focuses on the wonderful challenge of decorating as newlyweds. My husband and I went through this fete and achieved a pretty balanced combination of our styles. I was surprised how much he like vintage decor in the process. Definitely once we have our own home, we’ll be able to customize our decor even more.
My article focuses on the process and planning a newlywed home. You come back from your honeymoon and suddenly you’re slapped with building a home together. Decorating a home on your own can be a daunting task, let alone with someone else. It can cause arguments early on. so I’ve laid out a plan to keep the process as peaceful as possible. Starting with discovering your individual tastes and then finding a way to mess them together. It’s so much easier if you have an idea of what you want as an individual. Otherwise your opinion may get drowned out by your spouse. I even suggest hiring a designer to consult or do the entire home if you really can’t agree.
So bounce on over to Chairish blog to read all about decorating as a newly married couple! I hope it’s helpful to any of you just getting married, engaged or simply moving in with boyfriend/girlfriend. Your home should feel special whether you live alone or share your space. Happy decorating!
