Today I wanted to share another design project in progress for Planning Pretty. This is for one of my amazing friends from college, Caitlin. This girl has amazing taste and I want her tabletop design to match! She already owns a set of Wedgwood china with a Harvard toile design (shown in top right).
Building off the china’s gorgeous design, we’re scoping out classic yet chic pieces. Monogramed linens are the perfect compliment to the preppy-ness of Harvard. We’re also incorporating lace placemats passed down from her mother which will give the design a little “shabby chic” pizazz. The rest is staying fairly classic for her formal table setting. Glass candlestick holders, silver napkin rings and a beautiful centerpiece (via Pretty Little Snippets). I also love the idea of monogram table runner instead of placemats.
I am also creating a casual tabletop using this bamboo set of flatware as a focal point. This style is particularly nostalgic for Caitlin. I’m planning to tie in a few Eastern patterns and/or natural accents. It’s always a great idea to work in something that brings back happy memories into any design!
And lastly we’re building a shabby chic tea set collection! She already has several teacups and saucers in an array of patterns and colors. We’re hunting for great dessert/salad plates and cute high tea accessories. Definitely planning a trip to the antique fair! These crochet napkins and floral plates would be perfect!
