The Maker Faire is definitely the highlight of my weekend! My husband is a mechanical engineer so the entire event was like Disneyland to him. I took so many photos of us exploring and staring in awe of contraptions like “Life Size Mouse Trap” or giant fighting robots. Stop by my Facebook page for more of the fun!
I found some joy in it too by exploring the Bazaar Bizarre. I discovered so many great local artisans! I didn’t expect to see anything in my aesthetic but I was pleasantly surprised! From stamp makers, to graphic prints to hair accessories here are my favorites . . .
3 Fish Studios is located in the Outer Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. I love anything and everything Californian and especially the work of Eric Rewitzer and Annie Galvin. The bear hugging my beloved state surrounded by flowers is definitely going up in my home soon!
Cindy from PaperParasolPress had the most adorable prints and stationary. Her use of color and vintage style is right up my alley. Bonus: her style reminds of the 1950s Disneyland merchandise! Excited to find another great California print for my home. I think a pattern is developing…
I feel in love with the stamp creations of Meagan from Brown Pigeon Stamps. She can create custom stamps for you business logo, return addresses and she has a new book! Again, I love the California stamp with the tiny heart on San Francisco! Adorable!
Poppyhearts carries dozens of beautiful hair accessories. Seeing all the beautiful headbands reminded me of wedding planning. Definitely check out if you’re searching for bridal accessories, wedding party gifts or just everyday wear. The French collection is gorgeous!
Tapigami is exactly would it sounds like. The artist spent eight years creating hundreds of tiny sculptures from masking tape. This exhibit was by far my favorite! You could walk through the little world of Tapigami at the faire. Plus there’s an online shop for art and jewelry!
I have a little obsession with mermaids leftover from childhood, so I squealed when I saw this artist’s booth. All of Nidhi’s work is enchanting and whimsical. Check out her amazing collection, Everyday Love Art!
Bug Under Glass has the cutest creations of insect art. There are a few gorgeous pieces with butterflies in his collection that I would love to own!
My husband and I had no idea what to expect at the Maker Faire. There were crazy steampunk costumes, tech industry innovators and tons of children running around. Not to mention carnival treats! Definitely recommend attending next year if you’re in the bay area! Thanks again to Amanda of Advice from a Twenty Something for the tickets!
