New Great Gatsby decor post on May 7th, 2013
It seems that everywhere I look, 1920s glitz & glam or art deco is filling magazine pages, wedding sites and store shelves. Could it be because The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann was set to release this Christmas? Of Course! Why not jump into trend of a highly anticipated film! Sadly, the film was pushed back to 2013, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a head start!
Wouldn’t it be great to have an entire room (or hey, the whole house) inspired by this carelessly glamorous time? Gold, glitter, and vintage charm are the key ingredients for this motif.
Here are a few items that would put a lovely modern twist on this classic…
1. Royce Sofa, ZGallerie. 2. Rosy-Cheeked Coupes, BHLDN. 3. Rosette Hayworth Floor Lamp, Pier 1. 4. Desmond Coffee Table, Jan Showers. 5. Speakeasy Tray, ZGallerie. 6. Renaissance Frame, BHLDN. 7. Sequined Scalloped Curtains, Anthropologie. 8. Belvedere Hanging Lamp, ZGallerie. 9. Bric-a-Brac Votives, BHLDN. 10. Ludlow Throw in Winter White, ZGallerie. 11. Gramaphone for iPhone, Restoration Hardware.
And nothing says roaring 20s like…
Feathers! Instead of having a vase full of flowers, giant ostrich feathers would look amazing with this decor! Do you have any great decor ideas inspired by films? Share in the comments below!
