This year marks the first Christmas for my husband and me. Yes, we’ve celebrated six Christmases together already, but this is the first time having our very own beautiful tree! We had so much fun decorating and did throw a decorating gathering for friends and family to help while enjoying holiday treats.
I decided to pick a theme for the tree inspired by my love for cute forest and winter critters. There were so many ornament options at our favorite stores! I seriously could have put a whole zoo of animals on the tree!
The animal ornaments came from West Elm, Pier 1 and Z Gallerie, all of which have lots of adorable ornaments to choose from! Plus since it’s so close to December 25th, everyone is putting Christmas decor on sale.
Our gold bulbs were an amazing deal, $15.00 for 50 ornaments from Target! I really wanted an all gold tree and this set was perfect.
And I tend to be a bit obsessive about all the wrapping paper matching! I found this beautiful paper at Typo. The aqua ribbon is actually leftover from my wedding! I still have dozens of yards stored in my office and am constantly searching for ways to use it up!
Here’s the finished six foot noble fir all lit up!
I stuck with a very natural and metallic theme all over the house. We don’t have a mantle but our red china cabinet is the perfect height and has knobs just right for stockings! Don’t you love the faux fur stockings too! Told you I was was obsessed with faux fur!
I also repurposed an apothecary jar from our wedding and filled it with gold ornaments also from Target.
